Privacy Policy – DuoTake
Last updated: October 9, 2026
1. Scope and contact
This policy covers the DuoTake iPhone app, provided by Adriano Souza Costa. For privacy questions or requests, contact adrianosouzacostaios@gmail.com. Website privacy preferences are separate from the app’s permissions.
2. Capture, imported content, scripts and captions
Camera views, microphone audio and imported media are used to create your composed photos and videos. Teleprompter text is used to display your script while recording. Auto captions transcribe the speech of a video you choose on your iPhone using Apple’s on-device speech recognition; DuoTake does not upload that audio. The first time you caption in a language, iOS may download that language’s speech model from Apple. Remove silences analyzes the audio of the selected video on your device. Captions, word corrections and edited versions are stored with the video in the local gallery, and Remove silences keeps your original so you can undo the cut. Captures are stored in the app’s local gallery by default; they are not automatically published. Local media storage does not mean that the app never processes other data described below.
3. Permissions and your choices
Camera access enables capture; microphone access enables audio recording. Photos access allows saving captures or using media you select. You can change permissions in iOS Settings; denying access may prevent the corresponding feature from working. Pro automatic saving to Photos creates copies outside the app’s gallery. If you allow notifications, DuoTake uses OneSignal to deliver them; OneSignal receives a push token, an identifier generated by the app and basic device information. You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings.
4. Web pages and external services
When you choose an HTTPS URL for Pro web-page capture, loading the page requires a network request. The destination website and services it loads may receive your IP address, the requested URL and technical request information, and may apply their own cookies and privacy practices. HTTPS encrypts the connection but does not make your visit anonymous. Avoid entering private links or capturing sensitive information you do not intend to include in a recording.
5. Analytics and personalization
The developer’s disclosure on the App Store lists data that may be collected without being linked to your identity: other user contact information, other user content and user identifiers for analytics and product personalization; product interactions, crash data and performance data for analytics. These categories describe the public App Store disclosure and do not mean that every photo, video or script is uploaded. Practices may vary with the features you use. Contact us for details about a specific data item or request.
6. Optional preferences and support
If onboarding offers an optional gender preference, you may skip it. It is used to personalize app features, not for advertising or sale. When you email support, we receive the address and information you choose to send so we can respond. Do not include recordings, scripts or other sensitive material unless needed to explain your request.
7. Purchases and sharing
Apple processes payments and purchase restoration. The developer does not receive your full card details. Apple handles transaction information under its own policies, and RevenueCat helps the app check your subscription status using an identifier generated by the app and purchase information provided by Apple. Sharing sends the selected content to the destination you choose through the system share sheet; that service’s terms and privacy policy then apply. Copies saved to Photos may sync or be backed up according to your Apple settings. We do not sell or rent your personal data for advertising.
8. Retention, deletion and privacy requests
You control the captures in the local gallery and copies you export. Deleting an app copy does not delete copies in Photos, backups or sharing destinations; manage those separately. Removing the app may remove its local files, so save anything you need first. Support correspondence is retained as needed to handle your request and meet applicable obligations. For access, correction, deletion or other rights available under applicable privacy law, contact adrianosouzacostaios@gmail.com. We may need information to verify and locate your request; data not linked to you may not be identifiable.
9. Security and children
Protect your device and review content before sharing it. No storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children through support. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information should contact us so we can review and address the request.
10. Changes
We will update this page and its revision date when practices change, and provide any additional notice or consent required by applicable law.
